Everyone has that one thing that just drives them to the edge. Someone chewing with their mouth open, interrupting, when people are late, not covering their mouth while sneezing, chewing gum too loudly, saying “like” every other word, and so on.
I think that my biggest pet peeve is one to share: when people who clearly know you act as though they don’t.
This is something that isn’t just annoying but could actually hurt someone’s feelings. How rude is it to see someone and to completely act as though you have no idea who they are? Extremely rude, especially if you truly know them and were acquaintances at one point.
If you were in the same class in high school, odds are you remember me, so seriously just say hello, or even just wave. It takes .2 seconds to wave and smile towards someone you know, and it could make their whole day so much better.
Making someone’s day has a ripple effect; kindness is contagious.
I know that some people worry about having the other person not recognize them, so they have the fear of that person saying, “Why did that weirdo just wave to me?” But in reality, if you recognize someone, odds are they recognize you as well.
Make their day and throw a hand up to wave, it is seriously such a simple and easy thing to do, which could make the world a kinder place.
