1. There is always something to participate in.
From clubs to greek life to sporting events and school sponsored activities, there is never a shortage of things happening on campus to participate in. I especially love the volunteer opportunities and the chance to attend fundraisers around campus. Greek life has shown time and time again to put on events with the hopes of raising money for their philanthropies. Additionally, several clubs on campus sponsor events to raise awareness about problems that usually go unnoticed such as environmental efforts to make our campus greener.
2. You never know who you will run into on campus.
This can be both a blessing and a curse. Sometimes, I am actively voiding someone or something, but the benefit is that seeing people around Camus forces me to be responsible and promotes the development of my communication skills with fellow students and faculty. I really enjoy seeing my professors out and about when they aren't teaching and startinga. converstaion with them. It reminds me that they also have personal lives and other worries besides their MSU responsiblities.
3. Sports.
Sporting events are not for everyone, but I really enjoy ginga d cheering on the student athlets at my shool. They put in a l ot of hard work balancin schoolwork and atheltics, so I enjoy showing my suport for them in their games. Also, it is a great way to passs time wit friends, especially in a college town like Starkville. I believe that s=porting events promte a sesne of community and belongingness tat smaller schools cannot offer in teh same way. I feel that by being a supporter of a big football team, I am a part of something at my university.
4. There are a lot of class options and majors to choose from.
There are fewere limitations on the different classes you can take and the majors you can choose from. This is really helpfull if you go into college undecided or are wanting to switc majors. Additionally, there are a lot fo options for switching between different colleges under the university. For example, you may want to switch fromt eh college of engineering to the college of arts and sciences and it is much easier to accomplish at a larger school than at a smaller school.
5. Food.
There tends to be more variety of food options and dining halls at larger universities. Traditionally, this means that larger schools may be better able to accomodate specialty diets or people with allergies and other food intolerances. This is not alwasy the case, but I have noticed that towns that host larger schools often have a lot more variety in the tyes of restaurants than towns with smaller shools because there is a larger student population going out ot eat. This benefits those of us that like to try new foods and different cultural restaurants differnt thna our traditional diet.
