I know that neither of us are really into the classic, sappy big-little stuff, but I thought I'd go for it anyway. It's starting to sink in more and more that you're leaving me for an entire semester, but it's fine, I'm fine.

First of all, I am so excited for all that you are going to experience next semester. You're going to learn and grow so much and I can't wait to see this all of the amazing things that you are going to do and see. You're going to thrive and Italy is SO lucky to be getting you. Eat your body weight in gelato and pasta. I can't wait to live vicariously through your Instagram pics and weekly YouTube vlogs. You'll be thriving without me.

It really is going to be weird without you for entire semester. We joke about seeing each other every day, but it really is true. I know that I can show up at your house for a quick rant or for a good time. I can always count on a laugh every time we hang out. You're always down to gossip, watch Criminal Minds or just to be there for me.

You really have had such a positive influence on my college experience. As basic as it sounds, I really couldn't imagine college without you. It's hard to believe we've only been friends for a year and I'm so excited for all of the memories we'll make together in the future.

When you told me you were going to go abroad for an entire semester, I can't even tell you how excited I was to hear it. But as the time for you to go comes closer, I am sad to see you go. I'm already counting down the days until you're back with me.

Have the time of your life in Italy, make a lot of memories and don't you ever forget about me. I'm always a FaceTime call away -- and you already know I'll be callin' you on the reg. You're going to do amazing things in this world, and your studying abroad is just going to be a taste of everything you will do in the future. I am so incredibly proud of you. I love you!

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
