Ever since the release of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" in 2002, everyone knows the basics of being Greek-American. Being Greek includes eating plenty of food, having a large family, and being loud. But being half-Greek means that even though you have this side of you, you have another, equally important half of you that makes you unique.
You know you're half Greek when:
1. Your parents tell you that “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” was their life.
2. Your non-Greek parent had to get used to people talking over each other at the dinner table.
3. Your Greek side of the family always arrives an hour late.
4. Your non-Greek side always arrives an hour early.
5. You know enough Greek to get by, but don’t know what your Yia Yia says when she talks to your Greek parent.
6. Even when you’re tan, you’re not as tan as full Greeks.
7. But you’re still tanner than the other side of your family.
8. You have a ton of extended cousins on your Greek side.
9. Part of your name sounds Greek, but the other part doesn’t.
10. Your non-Greek parent suffers with you through Greek goodbyes.
11. You got the best qualities from both sides of your family.
12. You’re proud to be half Greek.
