If you're anything like me, once spring rolls around, you anxiously begin to search online for the premiere dates of the hit show of the summer: Big Brother. If you haven't watched the show, I feel sorry for you.
The rundown: Big Brother is a reality show about approximately 16 contestants, called "house guests", who live together in a high-tech hose for the summer with absolutely no privacy. There are thirty plus cameras located around the house watching their every move.
Each week, all the house guests compete for the "Head of Household" title. This means that they nominate two house guests for eviction.
Following the HoH competition, the HoH, the two nominees, and three other house guests chosen by random draw compete for the "Power of Veto", which is the power to veto one of the nominees, and the Head of Household must put up a replacement nominee.
At the end of the week, the house guests vote to evict one of the two nominees. And then they do it all again the next week.
Sounds like just a lot of competing, right? Wrong.
It is a game of strategy. Emotions are running high inside the house. There are alliances that form, romances, or "showmances", and friendships. With all of this in the mix, it is a time you don't want to miss. People turn on alliances, fight with one another, and there is never a dull moment.
And the best part: the show is on THREE TIMES A WEEK.
And every season, there is a new twist. In the past, they have included a third nominee, new competition, or previous houseguests returning to the game for revenge.
All in all, it is a show that you don't want to miss. And let me say, it is incredibly addicting, and 100 percent binge-able.
As the show's motto states, "expect the unexpected."
