What Are These People Thinking?

Big Brother Episode 23 Recap

WHAT. ARE. WE. WATCHING. Look, I love Paul. His game right now is absolutely amazing, but this house is full of a bunch of idiots! Elena, a nominee, takes $5,000 from the HOH Alex who she made a deal with to not punish each other. Then Matt, who if he uses the Veto himself there will be no replacement and the House Target, Cody, will be safe. Then he uses it on Jason one of the other nominees so that Cody can get back doored. Do these people have any sense of game whatsover? It's a me game not a we game folks!

The episode started off with Paul and Alex still working their side alliance. They basically a pecking order after Cody is evicted and a Final 6. They plan to take out Mark and Elena, Matt and Raven, and then Kevin. This is a good alliance for Paul to be in because he easily wins against anyone else that is in that Final 6. He honestly will probably make it to Final 2 and win guys. It is time to start coming to terms with that. I am fine with it but I know I am one of the few that like Paul this season. Just hang in there everyone. Anything can still happen.

Speaking of Kevin, he is seen as the only person really being nice to Cody. It gets even to the point that Cody divulges the fact that he has a daughter to Kevin which is pretty big. Both guys get emotional and it was really nice moment on a season that has really been filled with a lot of fights. Don't be surprised if millions of hearts broke when Kevin was crying in the storage room and had to hide in the freezer.

This episode really took a dive when the Veto competion was over and as you can see written above, that is why. Let's start off with Elena. She is so frustrated about being the "perpetual pawn". She has been the pawn for two weeks? Chill out with that Elena. The way she is talking in the DR you would think that she really cares about the game and would really like to win the Veto by taking it from Matt, who should have never took it from Jason in the first place! Anyways she makes a deal with Alex to not give each other punishments and then not five minutes later she goes back on that deal! For $5,000! Elena, did you know that if you win Big Brother you win $500,000 and even if you come in second you get $50,000? Last time I checked, that is a whole lot more than what you just won. Now Elena has pissed off the HOH and Alex running around saying that she wants Elena to be voted out this week. What was even funnier about this is that basically Cody tells Elena she is an idiot, but he loved the move because now he might not go up if Matt uses the Veto on himself. Cody also tries to be social when he is invited to hang with everyone.

If you thought the trainwreck was almost over, think again. While Cody is pleading with Alex and Jason to keep him around because he won't go after them, Paul is working his magic on Matt and without "hesitation" (who are we kidding? He just said he was considering it to make the show interesting) he agrees to use the Veto on Jason so Cody can go up. This might be the dumbest thing ever on Big Brother. When you are on the block and have the Veto, YOU TAKE YOURSELF OFF THE BLOCK. Personally, Matt should just be evicted for this. He kept saying he was going to play a different game when jury hit, but that has came nowhere near close to being a reality. While Cody has been a pretty terrible player, at least he would try to strategically think. This whole house besides Paul has no strategic bones in their bodies.

So here we are. Cody is going to be evicted on Thursday and anyone besides Paul is going to follow him right out. This is Paul's world and we are just living in it.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
