Wow. I am in shock with a lot of people probably being very happy right now. However, I go back to what a lot of people say: The person that wins Big Brother deserves to win, and the person that loses deserves to lose. That is exactly the case with Josh winning the season over Paul. Even though Paul played one of the best games in Big Brother History, he failed on one crucial element, the social element. Yes he played a social game, but he wasn't able to create the same magic he did last year with it. In the end, everyone was so bitter towards Paul that it just wasn't enough. Jury Management is one of the most important parts of the game and Paul did burn a lot of people. Jason and Alex mainly were the people that when Paul looks back on this, he is going to regret backstabbing them the way he did. They clearly voted with their hearts on their sleeves which is something one has to take in account when playing the game. The sad thing is Paul doesn't realize why he lost. He should've owned his game when the jury was questioning him and he didn't. The worst thing is that he might just not have realized that he did employ some bullying tactics and that is what cost him the game. He might never see this either because it really never got shown on the TV show. He was always shown in a positive light and the real dirty things were just on the feeds. The loss might always be a mystery to Paul. One thing Paul did though was solidfy himself as one of the best players to never win along with the likes of Queen Janelle. In fact, those two are in a league of their own right now. He has a spot in All-Stars if there ever is one.
Enough about that though, lets talk about the REAL winner of the season. Josh was for sure a flawed player, but he played his cards well dispite fighting with everyone in the house at some point. Yes he did what Paul wanted, but when Alex, for instance was voted out, Josh was the one that cast the vote. He then would expose the plan to them in the goodbye message showing that he cared about them. Paul did bond with everyone, but by doing this Josh managed them well. He made it look like Paul was the bad guy, which was the truth, but he always was viewed better. He also had this incredible underdog story after fighting with just about everyone in the house early on and then coming for the win. He made more social connections with everyone and he did expose people's games when he needed to. He made the wrong decision to take Paul to the end, but in the end it worked out for him. He was a great character on this season as well. He wasn't as strategic, but he wore his heart on his sleeve and that is what won him the game. The sad thing is though that he will probably will never get the credit he deserves. Everyone is going to always talk about how Paul lost and not how Josh won. His game is not super high on my list, but he better in my opinion than BB3 Winner Lisa, BB11 Winner Jordan Lloyd, and BBOTT winner Morgan Willet.
As far as the season as a whole goes, its definitely towards the bottom. There was some absolutely terrible game play from the rest of the players when Paul clearly was controlling everything. It got to be very predictable on the strategic side and was almost a chore to tune into each week. What this season was really about was the fighting and the drama that came with it. Josh was so entertaining with those pots and pans. On the other hand though, it sometimes just got to personal and I felt like I had to take a shower after watching the episode. Alex just hating Kevin for no reason was just so disgusting.
That is the my two cents on BB19 though and I know everyone can't wait until Celebrity Big Brother!
