Did I just watch an episode of Big Brother or did I watch a soap opera? Tonight's episode seemed like it was focused on the Jessica and Cody relationship that it was really hard to get much else out of it. There was so much drama that there wasn't even a veto ceremony tonight which is really saying something. Heck, I was skeptical that there even was going to be a Veto competition tonight. It was an odd episode of Big Brother, but it still had some good strategic talk, just not much.
The night starts off with the immediate impact of Paul placing Jessica and Cody on the block. Since Jessica had been telling Paul that she had the final temptation, Paul wants to talk to her and Cody about it after it wasn't used. Jessica is trying to explain to Paul what it is, but Cody's hot head gets in the way and just starts getting in Paul's face. Even for an easy going guy like Paul, it gets to be too much and he has to kick Cody out of the room when expletives start flying. Jessica does not take to kindly to this and this leads to her and Cody getting into a fight by themselves about if he is going to act like that in reality. She ends up storming out and wanting to be alone.
Meanwhile in the kitchen, Paul is telling the house about him and Cody's confrontation and this is getting Josh riled up into talking crap about Cody and it gets to the point that Mark tells Josh to shut up. This adds then into another blow up where Josh and Mark are ordered to get on other sides of the house. All in all, it was a very hostile confrontation that leaves Mark and Cody really wondering what is going to happen to them. Which they should. Cody is already beginning to push away Jessica and Mark thinks that Elena probably wants nothing to do with him after his fight with Josh. This is why it is always important to play the social game. However, it is nice to see these beautiful train wrecks happen sometimes.
Throughout all of this drama, there was strategy involved and you know is instigating it? Your boy! This is really good that Paul can see past all of the drama, put his emotions aside, and think about the game at hand. He approaches Jessica and basically tells her that she would not be a target if Cody wasn't there , which is the complete and honest truth. He is doing this because he wants to see if he can get her to not use the Halting Hex. Jessica had such a good social game while Cody was gone even though she was on the block, she would be so much better off. Paul then rallies his minions to tell them they should tell Jessica exactly that if she tries talking to them. We see Christmas tell her this and we see Elena tell her this and it look like it is starting to get through to Jessica that Cody is her main problem.
Cody has been such a terrible social player this season that honestly it is shocking he even got with Jessica in the first place. He seems like the most anti-social person and he really has done nothing to help Jessica's game because it has been so bad. He just has made them the enemies of the house and no one likes them except for Mark and Elena, but Elena even knows that she needs to stay away from Cody or she will be marked. It seems later in the episode that Cody really does feel bad about everything with Jessica and they make up, but Jessica is still very skeptical of his actions in the real world.
The BB Storm blew into the house tonight and it was such a funny competition. Cody was personally my favorite because you could tell he really did not care at all about all of the other things flying at him. Paul ended up winning the Veto and now has some decisions to make. He pulls Jessica up to the HOH room and says again that Cody is a problem for her game. He even throws out a conversation that Cody had with Matt on Day 13 about keeping Alex and Jason around so they could take out Raven and Jessica. By her facial expressions, this was definitely not what she was expecting to hear. She then lays out that the only way that she will not use the Hex this week is if she is safe for the next two evictions and whoever wins HOH next will go after Alex. Paul says he can easily promise the first one, but the second one not so much. However, Jessica is adamant. Paul gives us a DR though that he can easily lie about this and she will be all good.
If Paul really pulls this off, then that would be something. There are two ways he should go with this. One, he leaves both of them on the block and votes out Jessica instead of Cody, getting rid of the Hex. Second, he could pull Jessica off the block and leave Cody up to see if she still uses it to save him. He would have to put one of his own up, but the way everyone is doing everything he says, this probably wouldn't be a problem because everyone would be voting out Cody. Paul winning a second Veto though probably wasn't in his best interest because it is really showing his strength in the game. However, this has been said many times that Paul is overplaying and it still hasn't come back to bite him so who knows what could happen.
Yes this was a very dramatic epsiode, but all of this drama is leading towards Thursday. If you watch Live Feeds too, than you know there is way more drama to come before Thursday night, which could be one of the most historic shows in BB history. It is definately going to be one you don't want to miss.
