The Nevada football coach announced that the Big 10 is going to announce their decision about a delayed fall season tonight. This has every college football fan waiting patiently waiting for this moment. At first, we were told the season was canceled, then it got moved to possibly a spring season, and now a season that could start in October.
A season starting in OCTOBER? It seems too good to be true.
Although the PSU Barstool Twitter account may not be the best place to get information from, they have been posting updates almost every day about what is happening. For instance, I found all of the player's tweets saying that they want to play through the account. I also found out that when the season was officially cancelled, the football players parents wrote letters to President Barron asking him to reconsider and explaining how much it would mean to their child to play.
Along with this, it is rumored that the vote will be 8-5, in favor of having a season starting so soon.
I personally hope that the teams are allowed to resume in the fall. If the NFL can play safely then why can't college sports just follow their lead? Although watching the games on TV will be nothing compared to the environment of Beaver Stadium, it will be a lot better than no football at all. I want everyone to remain safe and hope that every athlete and person is okay, but along with that I am wishing for this unique season to happen.
