"When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

If you are going through tough times, I challenge you to turn to God. When we give our problems to God, he gives us comfort and strength. God is loving and forgiving, and I promise that He wants you to love Him like He loves you! Here are some encouraging bible verses that may help you in tough times.

Jeremiah 29:11

Trust in His timing. You may not realize it at the time, but He is working on something wonderful for you!

Psalm 37:4

If you give your heart to Jesus, he will bless you with whatever you need to get closer to Him.

2 Corinthians 12:10

Going through a tough time and feel like you can't do anything anymore? Give your troubles to Christ, and let Him carry you. He won't let you fall.

Matthew 19:26

No matter what you may believe, you can't do everything on your own. Let God help you make the impossible possible.

Joshua 1:9

With God, you have nothing to worry about. God will never abandon you, no matter what.

John 3:16

God loves us so much that he gave us His only Son. With Him, you will live eternally. If that doesn't show you how much He loves us, then what will?

Philippians 4:13

If we allow our Heavenly Father to help us, he will give us the strength to complete any task.

Proverbs 31:25

Ladies, you are beautiful. This beauty is not something that comes from outer appearances, but as cliche as it sounds, it's what's on the inside that matters most. If you learn to carry yourself with the strength and dignity given to you by our Father, you will have no fear of what is to come.

1 Corinthians 16:13-14

This is how it sounds, "let all the you do be done in love." Do as He would do, and love as He loves us.

Psalm 56:3

God will never leave and abandon you. A teacher of mine once said that if we repeat the words, "Jesus, I trust in you," three times, wonderful things will happen.

Matthew 6:34

Live in the moment and stop worrying about what will happen in the days, weeks, or months to come. You have no control over the future, it is all in God's hands.

Romans 8:31

You've got God on your team? You won't ever lose.

Psalm 46:5

God's strength will hold you up even in the hardest of times.

John 13:7

Jesus knows when things need to be done, and you need to know his timing is the right timing. Do not worry about when certain things will happen, because you will realize at a later time that Jesus knew what he was doing by making you wait.

Galatians 6:4-5

In the third Narnia, Lucy desires to be more like her older sister, Susan. Aslan (the King of Narnia) creates for her what life would be like if things were the way she wanted. In this "new world," Lucy was no longer a person because she wanted to be like her sister instead. Aslan told her that because she wanted to be someone else instead of herself, she erased her own being. Aslan said to her, "Don't doubt your value. Don't run from who you are."

Isaiah 43:2

Have you ever read the poem, "Footprints in the Sand?" It says, that a man was walking with Jesus and when he was going through tough times, he only saw one set of footprints. He asked Jesus why, in his hardest times, there was only one set of footprints. Jesus replied, "When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Psalm 139:4

God made you in His likeness and image. You were created the way you were out of His love.

And always remember:

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
