As life goes on, you face more and more good times and bad times. Through those good times and bad times, it is important to turn to scripture. Here is a list of 10 Bible verses that go along with a certain circumstance:

1. When you need rest and peace.

"Come to me, all you who labor and have been burdened, and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you shall find rest for your souls."

Matthew 11:28-29

2. When you worry.

"Therefore, seek first the kingdom of God and his justice, and all these things shall be added to you as well. Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow; for the future day will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its evil."

Matthew 6:33-34

3. When you are lonely or fearful.

"For, even if I should walk in the midst of the shadow of death, I will fear no evils. For you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they have given me consolation."

Psalm 23:4

4. When you are discouraged.

"I sought the Lord, and he heeded me, and he carried me away from all my tribulations. Approach him and be enlightened, and your faces will not be confounded."

Psalm 34:5-6

5. When God seems far away.

"You have known my sitting down and my rising up again. You have understood my thoughts from afar. My path and my fate, you have investigated. And you have foreseen all my ways. For there is no word in my tongue. Behold, O Lord, you have known all things: the newest and the very old. You have formed me, and you have placed your hand over me."

Psalm 139:2-5

6. When you feel sorrowful.

"Why are you sad, my soul? And why do you disquiet me? Hope in God, for I will still confess to him: the salvation of my countenance, and my God, My soul had been troubled within myself. Because of this, I will remember you from the land of the Jordan and from Hermon, from the little mountain."

Psalm 42:6-7

7. When you want courage.

"Behold, I am instructing you. Be strengthened, and be steadfast. Do not dread, and do not fear. For the Lord your God is with you in all things, wherever you may go."

Joshua 1:9

8. When looking for joy.

"Therefore, clothe yourselves like the elect of God: holy and beloved, with hearts of mercy, kindness, humility, modesty, and patience."

Colossians 3:12

9. When you think of investments.

"Then Jesus, gazing at him, loved him, and he said to him, 'One thing is lacking to you. Go, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and then you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow me.'"

Mark 10:21

10. When you need to know God's will for you.

"Have confidence in the Lord with all your heart, and do not depend upon your own prudence. In all your ways, consider him, and he himself will direct your steps."

Proverbs 3:5-6

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.
