1. " Look at the nations and watch and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told." Habakkuk 1:5
This is one of my absolute favorite verses in the bible. Jesus specifically tells us that He is going to do greater things than we could ever imagine-- how incredible is that? This verse should give you hope that our God is constantly working, even if we can't feel it or see it.
2. " No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." 1 Corinthians 10:13
If you thought fall semester was hard, just wait for spring... or so I've been told. This verse is a great reminder to trust God. He will never put you through anything that you cannot handle. Even when you feel like you're about to break, know that God will only do work through your tough situations.
3. " Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail." Lamentations 3:22
God is the greatest of all loves. He cares for you indefinitely and has compassion on your soul consistently. Even on the loneliest of nights, He is there with you. His love never fails.
4. " The second is this: ' Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these." Mark 12:31
This commandment is one that we sometimes easily forget in college. Go out and seek people that need to be loved this next semester. Do not let yourself get too comfortable, but instead look for opportunities for you to get out of your comfort zone and love on others.
5. " When he had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit." John 19:30
I love this verse so much I got it tattooed on my body. Jesus says " tetelestai" or "it is finished." Those words mean that your sin is covered and you no longer have to worry about the guilt that some actions may bring. Jesus has your back and he doesn't want you to worry or lay in shame, but instead to prosper and succeed in His name. So yes, we all make mistakes, but do not let those mistakes hold you back or bring you down. Jesus died specifically for those mistakes to be covered.
6. " It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is young." Lamentations 3: 27
We always think, or at least I do, that we will be able to do the most work for Jesus when we are older and more successful. This is not at all true. Jesus specifically tells us that we should be doing the most work for Him in our youth. That means now, while we are in college. Like I just said, college is the time to make mistakes and get out of your comfort zone for the Lord. Don't let your age scare you away from doing bold things for the Lord.
