Ever since we were little, we have been told to "be patient." When we first heard it as a child, it was for little things like waiting until after dinner to have a cookie. Then, as a teenager, we were told to be patient when we wanted to go hang out with our friends. And now, well, we have become anxious for much bigger, better things.
Even though we've grown older, we're still like children in a way. No matter what is happening in our lives, we try to listen to the Word of God to help remain patient with whatever life has to throw at us. The Bible verses I have chosen are a kind reminder asking God to lead us on the right path.
1. Proverbs 14:29
Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly..
2. Proverbs 16:32
Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city
3. Psalm 37:7
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
4. Exodus 14:14
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.
5. Psalm 27:14
Be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.
I think for many people, the solution needs to come fast. But with God, there is no quick answer or solution. Perfection takes time. We struggle with the idea of patience and waiting for God's plans because we become too enthralled with the quickness of life. To be patient is to be successful, for we are putting our lives in God's hands. Only then will we truly be able to feel the presence of patience within our life. If we are patient in all things, God will make good follow. These quotes above can be a reminder of the power of patience with God.
