4 Bible verses to know when you need an extra boost or just to bring a bigger smile to your face

I'm happier, healthier, and most importantly closer to God.

So here recently I've really just changed my mindset. I'm happier, healthier, and most importantly closer to God. I read my devotion every morning and I've come across some Bible verses that really just help me get through the days when it's a little hard. We all have those mornings where we are just dragging, but hopefully one of these verses can really help you out.

Matthew 17:20

He replied, "Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

This is seriously so comforting because even if you get scared and back away, you can still have very little faith and He will help you!! God literally tells you that nothing will be impossible for you, believe it, know it, have that faith!

Deuteronomy 7:9

"He is the faithful God who keeps His covenant for a thousand generations."

This is just as comforting as the first because our God is the same God from hundreds of years ago and he keeps the same promise he made to us as he did to those people and the people before that and the people before that!!! Nothing changes his mind, no one can change his mind. He is a faithful and forgiving God who definitely keeps his word.

Revelation 21:4

"He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death, or sorrow, or crying or pain."

This one really helps me. I've been through a lot in my life and lost a lot of great people that I would give anything to just have another day with. But how sweet is it to know that one of these days we will meet God and we will have no more sad tears to cry because everyone is in pure joy and no more pain, suffering, everyone is happy. Everything is happy. It is truly exciting.

Hebrews 4:15-16

"This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for He faced all of the same testings we do, yet He did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most."

How crazy is it that Jesus never sinned? He never back talked his parents, he never wished he had something more, he never let a cuss word out when he stubbed his toe. The little things that just "slip" sometimes for us, Jesus never did that. But you know what's even better? As long as you know Jesus and accept him into your heart, you will have all of the forgiveness from him when your day comes. God knows we will mess up, but as long as we repent our sins and ask for forgiveness from him, He will forgive. What a mighty God he is!

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
