Sometimes we feel alone and discouraged in this world. Knowing that God is there to support us in the difficult times and to build us up in the times that we flourish is comforting. When we are experiencing some sort of hardship in our lives, we can turn to the Bible for guidance and support.

1. Look to Exodus 14:14 when you feel like you're fighting a battle you cannot win on your own.

The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.

2. Look to Psalm 34:18 when you feel heartbroken.

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

3. Look to Isaiah 40:29 when you feel weak.

He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.

4. Look to 1 Peter 5:7 when you feel overwhelmed or stressed.

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

5. Look to Proverbs 3:5-6 if you need reassurance and direction in your life.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

These verses, along with countless others, can serve as constant reminders that we are not alone in our lives. When we turn to God for help and assistance, we are never alone because he is with us and he is for us.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
