College is a once in a lifetime experience, extremely rewarding, and quite possibly the best four years of your life. Don’t get me wrong, I love Oklahoma State and man do I love college, but this stuff is ANYTHING but easy! All college kids face a whirlwind of struggles that are unlike anything we have ever experienced before, so there is no way to get through it on our own. It is so easy to forget that we do need to lean on Christ to remain sane! Struggles can vary from time management to balanced eating to financial responsibility and those are just a few minor issues we have on our plates as students. Here are some bible verses to help college students struggling in more ways than one.
For when you are sad:
1 Peter 5:7- “Give all your worries to him, because he cares for you.”
For when you are going through tough times:
James 1:2-4- “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
For when you are overwhelmed:
2 Corinthians 12:9-10- “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weakness, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
For when you're trying to find yourself:
Romans 12:2-3- “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.”
For when you just don’t know what to do:
Jeremiah 29:11-13- “I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the LORD; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope. When you call me and come and pray to me, I will listen to you. When you search for me, yes search for me with all your heart, you will find me.”
