We are now in the full-swing of classes and buried deep in the pit of homework, and if you are anything like me, you are searching far and wide for some encouragement. I find my rest and strength in God and my faith. These Bible verses have brought me out of some stressful times, so I hope they do for you as well.

1. Psalm 28:7

"The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him."

It's hard to remember in college that God is still with us no matter what and through it all. He will also protect us like a shield protects a soldier.

2. Matthew 6:27

"And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?"

Anxiety and fear can take a huge toll on people, both physically and mentally. With God on our side, we can give Him some the stress of our everyday lives and trust that He has a greater plan and a better path.

3. Luke 1:37

"For no word from God will ever fail."

From truth, there is confirmation that God will not fail you. Take this as encouragement to believe in Him and that He DOES have a plan for you.

4. Romans 8:28

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."

It's written right there!! God works for the GOOD of those who love Him. Take peace and rest in the simple truth that God is always on your side. Even when you pull two all-nighters in a row to get a C on your exam, He is still on your side.

5. Colossians 3:15

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace."

God is love, He is peace, He is joy, and He is wisdom. Let this sink in, He is able to give us peace of mind and a sense of calm when we need it most. All we have to do is let Him into our hearts and give it to us.

6. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

"For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal."

The struggles we face on earth will not matter to us when we face Jesus. We are heading towards an eternal bliss and more joy than we can even fathom. Daily struggles on this earth do not compare to the joy that awaits us, so in the darkest of times, turn your eyes to this.

7. Acts 1:7

"He said to them: 'it is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by His own authority."

While this does not show us much immediate comfort, we can see this as a means of giving up control. Nobody knows God's plan except for Him so why should we spend so much of our life trying to figure it out?

8. John 20:27

"then he said to Thomas, 'Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it to my side. Stop doubting and believe."

This is one for those of us that have our moments of doubt and seasons of drought. He tells us to believe and stop doubting. If we take a moment each day to take a breath and acknowledge that God is there and with us always, we open ourselves up to so much joy.

9. Psalm 46:1

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble."

The verse speaks for itself.

10. Isaiah 41:13

"For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, DO not fear; I will help you."

Next to this verse in my bible, I have the word "WOAH" written. God promises us that He will take hold of our hand, and help us. Through the four exams, through the broken hearts, through the divorcing parents, and through the death of the loved one.

Just trust.

Let go, and let God.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
