February can be a really wonderful month, full of love and giving even more love. Many single people like myself, however, can be left feeling lonely and dejected. In times of loneliness and wishing we had the relationships that the people around us have, we can take comfort in the words of God, who tells us that we are fully loved and fully known by Him, regardless of our earthly relationship status.

1. 1 Peter 3:4

"Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight."

We often feel like we need to look a certain way to be loved or accepted, but God says that it's what's on our hearts that really counts.

2. John 1:16

"Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given."

God grants us grace upon grace, proving that no matter how many times we mess up, God will always take us back.

3. Matthew 6:33

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."

The most important thing in our lives should not be seeking out a man, but rather, seeking out the kingdom of God.

4. Ephesians 2:10

images.unsplash.com

"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

God created you and is writing your story. Nothing about what you look like or who you are is a mistake. God created you exactly how He intended you to be.

5. John 3:16

images.unsplash.com

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

God loves us so much that He sent His son to die and give us an eternal life that we don't deserve. This love is greater than any human love could even be.

6. 1 Samuel 12:22

images.unsplash.com

"For the sake of his great name the Lord will not reject his people, because the Lord was pleased to make you his own."

God will never reject us. In earthly relationships, we often fear being rejected, but with God, we do not have to fear.

7. Psalm 27:14

"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."

In Psalm, God reminds us to wait for Him. Everything that happens should be in accordance with His timing, not ours.

8. Zephaniah 3:17

images.unsplash.com

"The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing."

God is always with us, no matter what.

9. John 10:10-11

images.unsplash.com

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."

Jesus laid down His life so that we could have eternal life with Him.

10. Deuteronomy 31:6

images.unsplash.com

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

We have no need to fear. While people may come and go in our lives, God will never leave us, even in our loneliness.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
