Chances are, you've just returned from a Thanksgiving break with family, friends, and heavenly amounts of food. You're bloated, you're tired from driving, and you're stressed. Why? Finals week, of course. Finals week is filled with all sorts of emotions and everything is done in the extreme – Extreme crying, extreme Netflix binging, extreme amounts of caffeine consumed, etc. In an attempt to lessen the pain that is finals week, I have found some bible verses for all the scenarios you might face. Good luck!
When the worry sets in
"Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life." Philippians 4:6-7 MSG
When it's too overwhelming
"No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it." 1 Corinthians 10:13 MSG
"Pile your troubles on God’s shoulders—he’ll carry your load, he’ll help you out.
He’ll never let good people
topple into ruin." Psalm 55:22 MSG
When you lose the positive outlook
When the kid next to you is handling life better
"So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ’s body, let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren’t." Romans 12:6 MSG
When you're taking a break from studying
“Here’s what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace." Matthew 6:6 MSG
Reminder: Your grades do not define your worth
"It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone. " Ephesians 1:11 MSG
When you're alone in the library at 3 a.m.
"Since God assured us, “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,” we can boldly quote,
God is there, ready to help;
I’m fearless no matter what.
Who or what can get to me?" Hebrews 13:6 MSG
When you forget who is in control
"We plan the way we want to live,
but only God makes us able to live it. " Proverbs 16:9 MSG
