Between extracurriculars, keeping up with your studies, and trying to maintain a social life, college can easily become overwhelming. Sometimes you feel like you can't catch a break and it's so easy to turn to alternative methods to release stress. During times of adversity and anxiety, I thoroughly believe that these verses below can provide comfort and save a whole lot of anxiety as they put you into a more peaceful mindset.

1. 1 Peter 5:6-7

"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

2. Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;in all your ways submit to him,

and he will make your paths straight."

3. Deuteronomy 31:6

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

4. Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

5. Habakkuk 1:5

"Look at the nations and watch—and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told."

6. Isaiah 41:10

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

7. Joshua 1:9

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

8. Psalm 37:5

"Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:"

9. Ecclesiastes 3:1

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens"

10. Philippians 4:13

"I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

11. Psalm 56:3-4

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?

12. John 14:27

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

I know that life can get crazy and confusing, but never forget how widely and intensely the Lord loves you, cares for you, and has greater plans for you than you could ever imagine.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
