Finals week barreled at me like an out of control vehicle, and all I could do was try to brace myself for impact. To be frank, the first few weeks of December are always the most stressful weeks of my entire existence. I know I'll feel relieved and relaxed after the final presentation is given, the last paper is submitted, and the last exam is taken, but until then I've got to keep going, as does every college student. So if you're feeling as burnt out as I am right now, hopefully these Bible verses will help you as much as they help me. We can do this!
Matthew 6:34
"Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself."
Wisdom 7:29
"For She is fairer than the sun and surpasses every constellation of the stars."
Isaiah 43:5
"Fear not, for I am with you."
Romans 8:18
"I consider that the sufferings of this present time are as nothing compared with the glory to be revealed for us."
1 Peter 5:7
"Cast all your worries upon Him because He cares for You."
2 Timothy 4:17
"But the Lord stood by me and gave me strength."
Ezra 10:4
"We will stand by you, so have courage and take action!"
Hebrews 13:5
"I will never forsake you or abandon you."
Romans 5:31
"If God is for us, who can be against us?"
Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know well the plans I have in mind for you, says the Lord, plans for your well-fare not for woe! Plans to give you a future full of hope."
It might sound silly, but flipping through my (very) well-worn Bible and scrolling the pages of Bible verses on Pinterest is one of the things that relaxes me the most. I'm not very good with the whole self-care thing; I always feel like there's something more productive I could be doing. But reading the Bible never feels like a waste of time and always leaves me with the feeling that everything is going to be okay.
So to everyone struggling with the last few weeks of the semester, you are not alone. You can do this.
