Recovering from an eating disorder is a really difficult thing to do. It’s often a very isolating and uncomfortable struggle. Recovery is not something that is easy to talk to people about and there is no real “rule book” on how to do it.
There are ups and downs, good days and bad days, and inevitably — there will be failures and frustrations. You have to learn to be gentle with yourself, but you also have to learn from your missteps and change your thoughts and actions. It’s a process.
Every time you fall, that fall is an opportunity to run to the Lord and learn from the situation (it sounds corny, but it’s so true). It’s essential to not allow one mistake or bad day to discourage you and take ahold of your life. I encourage you to run to God through your recovery and lean on these verses when you need help.
There is nothing more comforting, convicting, truthful, and healing than God’s word.
