Being a student times can get stressful, and you become overwhelmed. Your family and friends are great support systems, but sometimes you need another support system. God will be a support system that will always be there for you. Reading God's words can always lift your spirits, boost your mood or give you motivation to what ever you are trying to get through. Anytime you are having a tough time with school, whether it is figuring out your major, being homesick or overwhelmed with homework, don't worry and read God's words. God has put you in the situation you are in for a reason, knowing that you have the strength to overcome the struggle.

When you need some encouragement...

"When my heart is faint lead me to the rock that is higher than I." Psalm 61:2

When you come across a conflict...

"Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome with good." Romans 12:21

"When you go through deep waters, I will be with you." Isaiah 43:2

When you need to be reminded you are loved...

"I loved you at your darkest." Romans 5:8

"You are loved forever." Romans 8:38-39

When its hard to forgive...

"Forgive as the Lord forgave you." Colossians 3:13

When you are having a tough time with a friendship...

"A friends loves at all times." Proverbs 17:17

For you to remember God cares for you, all of you...

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7

"I have made you. I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you." Isaiah 46:4

To remember that God forgives you...

"He still loves you. He still forgives you. And you're still his." Luke 7:47

In a time of being disappointed...

"When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other." Ecclesiastes 7:14

When frustration has taken over you...

"I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord." Psalm 27:13

To remember it is okay to cry...

"Tears are prayers too. They travel to God when we can't speak." Psalm 56:8

To remember you are not alone in this...

"For I am the Lord, your God. Who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you." Isaiah 41:13

It is easy to keep to your self and build the worry up inside of you. We need to all remember that God is there for us at all times. School gets tough for everyone at some times, but remember to use God as a support system. He will help you through what ever your situation. He made you who you are today; he puts you through things he knows you can get through.

Lastly, remember this...

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified;do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
