After seeing, reading, and listening to the reaction from this year's election, I am devastated in what we have come to as a nation under God.
I put great thought into what I would write this week, knowing how much hate has surfaced in America. But, nothing I say, at this point and time, will possibly get rid of all the hate, sadly. All I can think to do is encourage others to take this time to look to God for love and support.
So I opened my Bible to read and share some verses that could help guide all of us through this tragic time in our world.
For those of you who feel as if you are not cared for:
"Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you." (1 Peter 5:7)
For those who are feeling ostracized:
"You are all one in Christ Jesus." (Galatians 3:28)
For those of you who are having trouble understanding and accepting others differences:
"Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works." (Hebrews 10:24)
For those of you who are having trouble supporting others' beliefs:
"In lowliness of mind, let each esteem others better than himself." (Philippians 2:3)
For those of you hoping to spread peace:
"Now the fruit of the righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace." (James 3:18)
For those who are, also, wondering, "where is the love":
"He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." (1 John 4:8)
For those of you who express your beliefs through violence:
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Ephesians 3:16)
For those of you needing some encouragement to continue fighting for your beliefs:
"Whatever you do, do it heartily." (Colossians 3:23)
For those of you who are feeling as if it is you against the nation:
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." (Romans 12:2)
For those of you who are feeling angry:
"Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32)
For those of you fearing a change of or new laws:
"Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law." (Romans 13:8)
For those of you who feel as if there is no hope:
"God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able." (1 Corinthians 10:13)
For those of you who do not believe that God does not accept you for any reason:
"In truth, I perceive that God shows no partiality." (Acts 10:34)
For those of you have forgotten:
"Behold. I am coming quickly!" (Revelation 22:12)
For those of you who fear when that day comes, don't worry:
"Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (Romans 10:13)
I truly believe, now more than ever, that God is the answer. All of this hate is not acceptable or beneficial in any way. It's absurd, and simply shouldn't be happening in our country, or anywhere else on this Earth. The sooner we all replace the hatred with love, the better off we will all be, not on a personal level, but as a nation, as a world. God bless America. God bless all of us.
XO and best wishes,
Ashley Rose Corbin
