Proof that the Bible is inspired by God can be seen in numerous ways. Three of the strongest arguments are that the Bible's prophecies were fulfilled, that the Bible is universal to all people across all times, and that the Bible is superior to other religious literary works.
The Bible contains numerous prophecies that came to be. The Old Testament is proved to have been written hundreds of years before the coming of Christ, so to be filled with so many predictions that undoubtedly came true is astonishing. The Old Testament accurately predicted the lineage of Jesus Christ, the way he would be born (in Bethlehem of a virgin), that he would rise up as a leader and a Savior among men, and that eventually he would be murdered for the sake of humanity. To paraphrase Towns, man alone cannot predict the future; only God can do that. The fact that the Bible contains hundreds of fulfilled prophecies proves that the Bible is God-breathed.
The second argument proving the Bible is God's Word is the universal nature of the Bible. Even more than 2,000 years later, humans can read and relate to the words of Scripture. The Bible contains universal human elements. The Bible does not only appeal to one certain type of people. Rather, everyone who believes clings to it and upholds it as truth, whether it be children in third world countries or billionaires in penthouse suites. The message of the Bible comes across clear and simple, appealing to everyone, not excluding anyone. It never has and it never will be exclusive, which is why the Bible withstands the test of time and culture.
Finally, the Bible as a literary work is superior to all others. The Bible, when compared to other religious books such as the Book of Mormon or the Koran, rises to the top among them. All other religions claim that in order to win the favor of God, we as humans must continually do something. Be a good person. Do good works. Pray three times a day. All of these things are good in theory, but they put the burden on us, as fallible humans, to earn our salvation. The message of the Bible says, "You don't have to earn it. Jesus did it for you." On our own, we would never be good enough, which is the sad truth for other religions of the world. But thankfully, through Jesus Christ, as written in the Word of God, we aren't on our own. We have a Helper. We have a Savior. We have a Bible that is the Word of the one true God.
