I've been told that I'm going to end up forever alone as a "crazy cat lady," but, truth be told, I'm already there. I haven't had the greatest track record with dating, which has resulted in finding other options to fill my loneliness. Clearly, I decided to get a cat! I thought that it was going to be all happiness and cuddles when I first brought him home, but I was sorely mistaken. It turns out that my cat is nuts. I swear that he must have some type of anxiety. He hates noise, people, wind, vacuums, sneezing, talking, and much more. But, me being the dedicated human I am, I showered my cat with love and affection until he was forced to love me back. Now that I've had him for over a year, we've grown to love and live with each other.
That being said, my cat is so much better than having a boyfriend and here's why.
1. He's loyal.
I'll never have to worry about him downloading Tinder or sliding into other girls' DM's on Twitter.
2. He doesn't ask for much.
All that I have to do is change his litter box and feed him every day and he's satisfied.
3. He's always waiting for me when I come home.
As soon as I walk through my front door, he is the first thing that I see. I'll never have to worry about him going out and not coming back home to me.
4. He's the best cuddle buddy.
Who wouldn't want to spoon with a ball of fur?
5. He doesn't judge me.
I can dance around my house while singing Justin Bieber at the top of my lungs and he will always let me do my thing.
6. He doesn't leave the toilet seat up.
If there's one thing that men do that really make my bones quake, it's leaving the toilet seat up.
7. He's way cuter than any guy that I'd ever date.
I could look at that furry face all day and never get sick of it.
8. We never stay mad at each other.
Even though he may tear apart my carpet and scratch my arm, I can never stay mad at him for more than a few minutes.
9. He's easily entertained.
I could leave him at home for hours by himself and he'll still be able to have a good time.
10. When I sleep, he sleeps.
There's no better feeling than crawling into bed at night and having my cat curl up at my feet.
11. He gives me my space.
Yes, he may follow me into the bathroom and sit on my pile of clothes while I'm folding my laundry, but he also lets me do my own thing. Apart from the mood swings and the stubbornness, my cat is the ultimate companion. I couldn't ask for a better feline to keep me company.
