Beware of the Butterfly Effect

Why change the past when you know the present would not be the same.

The Butterfly Effect: The scientific theory that a single occurence, no matter how small, can change the course of the universe forever.

If you could change one thing about your life what would it be and why?

I despise this question. As I have explained in previous articles, it is not about changing for others but embracing what it is we have been given. Wrap your arms around what you have and celebrate the person that you are.

We all have thing thats we want to change. It can be related to the body. It can be related to our personality, our temperament. It could be a skill like singing or drawing. It could even be events that have happened in your life that you wish never happened or that you could go back and alter the outcomes. But why?

Why do we feel the need to dwell on what could have been? Why do we sit and ponder the most unpredictable nature of life? Why can’t we let go?

Often times, I sit and contemplate the little things. I ask myself “What if I did not go to lunch with my mom that one day during Junior year of high school and talk with her about my academic future and career path?”

I can tell you what would have happened. I would have never admitted to myself that music is my true passion. I would have never done research into the Music Industry. I would have never gone to LA to meet with my mom’s friend, an event that solidified that I wanted to pursue a career in the Music Industry. I would have never gone to GRAMMY Camp and made the mentorships and friendships I did. I would have never gone to school so far from home. I would have never had access to the experiences and opportunities that I have now. I would not be the person I call myself today.

Heavy shit right? Think about it. Try to identify the catalyst that completely changed your life to the one you are leading now. Mind blowing, isn't it?

Every hardship, every success, every curve ball that life throws us, shapes and molds us into the person that we are now. There is a lesson in every wrinkle of time. Life does not happen to you. Life does not dwell on what could have been or what needs to change. Life simply keeps moving forward. There is no rewind button, fast forward button, no pause button or stop button; just play. The only reality that you can depend on is happening in this time, right now. Tomorrow is unpredictable. Open your mind and be cognizant that anything could happen. Nothing is ever impossible. Love the life you have and realize that you you are where you are now because this is where you are suppose to be right now.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
