ExerciseÂ
Even though this is the most common New Year's resolution, this tip is not just about weight loss. By exercising either alone or even with a buddy, you will have an outlet to release all your issues. By exercising at least 30 minutes for three days a week, it could improve your mental and physical health.
Start a Journal
For the people who cannot release their issues through physical exercise, they can do it through mental exercise instead. By journaling about whatever you want every day, it allows for a private place where you can let loose. Plus, when 2020 rolls around, you'll be able to look back at all the things you've done in 2019.
Read a Book Every Week
By starting a new book, you can submerge yourself into a whole new world and learn new things. This allows for you to give some time for yourself and only yourself. If reading a book every week is too challenging at first, try reading a chapter of a book every night before going to bed.
Eat Healthy
Instead of starting a diet that you will eventually stop going by, try to begin incorporating healthier foods into your everyday life. By slowly changing your eating habits with more healthy foods, you an feel like eating healthy is not a chore. Don't forget that everyone needs a little cheat day in their life, so don't be too hard on yourself if you indulge into some of your favorite snack foods.
Get Rid of Toxic RelationshipsÂ
Begin to surround yourself with people that you know that love and care for you. By getting rid of toxic relationships in your life, you can begin to rid yourself of toxic energy and surround yourself with positive energy. Having positivity in your life will allow for you to feel better about yourself.
Learn a New Hobby
Starting a new hobby can open up many opportunities. You can make new friends, or better yet, find something that you are truly passionate about. Who knows, maybe it will bring you lots of joy. Start by looking into activities that you either love to do or are interested in, and find a group in your community.
Reduce Social Media Usage
By going on social media less, it can improve your mental health. Nowadays, there are so many things online that are either upsetting or disturbing. By taking a break every now and then, you will be able to focus more on your real life. In my own experience, by taking a break of social media, I was sleeping better and I enjoyed hanging out with people in real life more.
Spread Love
Try to spread love every day, whether it is through saying a compliment to your friend, or holding a door for a stranger. By spreading love and kindness to everyone you encounter, you will surround yourself with positive energy and make someone else's day better.
