Whether it's in an interview, at a club meeting, or on the first day of class, we're bound to constantly get the dreaded question, "Can you give me a fun fact about yourself?" If you're like me, you'll suddenly forget every single interesting thing you have ever done in your entire life. Instead, let's think about the things we would rather do than answer this question.
1. Drink decaf coffee
What's the point in drinking coffee if it doesn't have caffeine?
2. Take a razor scooter to the ankle
This is one of those memories from our childhood that we'll always remember. Those things were seriously dangerous.
3. Take the "Blazin' Wing Challenge" at Buffalo Wild Wings
Wings are the greatest and you can't convince me otherwise; however, this would be an interesting challenge.
4. Cross a campus superstition/legend (e.g. stepping on the seal at Miami University)
I personally won't be caught doing this, but you can do what you want.
5. Give up Starbucks for a week
Starbucks isn't just a coffee company — it's a way of life, so this would be pretty difficult.
6. Take an exam in a class you aren't even taking
Music performance major? How does a "Software Quality Assurance and Testing" exam sound?
7. Only eat the yellow Starbursts
You can't trust anyone who only eats the yellow ones. Everyone knows the pink and red ones are the best.
8. Stop quoting "The Office"
Ha, as if this is even possible.
9. Hear spoilers for your favorite show
Please don't make me do this though.
10. Write an essay about the squirrels on campus
It's college — anything can happen.
11. Find a ghost in one of the campus' many haunted buildings
If you find one, you're gonna have bigger problems than coming up with a fun fact about yourself.
12. Skip the post-dinner ice cream party
Who wants to skip ice cream? Not me, but I also don't want to give useless facts.
13. Look through old middle school photos
This is always cringy to do, and looking at old posts can be just as bad.

14. Watch the entire 'Twilight' saga
Why did our middle school selves think this was cool?
15. Go on a 5-mile run
As someone who rarely enjoys running, this would be absolute torture.
16. Try to explain the Important Videos playlist
Please contact me if you can come up with a reasonable explanation.
17. Play in a monopoly tournament
Monopoly is literally a dangerous game, so I hope you understand the risks involved.

If you're majoring in education, I want you to remember this as you begin teaching. Please don't ask your students to share a fun fact about themselves on the spot unless you only want to know everyone's favorite color or if they love dogs. (They should answer yes to this anyway if they know what's good for them.) In all seriousness, though, don't do it.
