To My Best Friends Back Home

We may be in different places now, but we're always together in spirit.

In one way or another, everyone remembers their own first memory with their best friend. It could be the first day that the two friends met, or it could be the day that they clicked and instantly connected with each other in a single moment. The truest of friends are totally rare and hard to find. That is why I want to take the time to tell my best friends back home how much they mean to me.

First of all, I want to thank you for all the rambunctious, meaningful memories we made over the course of our high school years together. Even now, I find myself looking through pictures on my phone, and I remember who we were and what we were doing in those exact moments. Some of my favorite memories of us were just randomly walking somewhere through school in the morning just to pass the time and catch up on whatever crazy things we were dealing with then. My memories with y'all were the best part of my high school times, but just know that y'all are just as much a part of my future as you were of my past.

Now that we're off doing our own things, both in college and in high school, I find myself really missing y'all at times. There are days where I recognize things on campus or around Farmville that came from one of our inside jokes, and I tell my college friends about a random time where we had another crazy adventure that became the funniest thing we have ever known. As busy as college life makes me, I do think about y'all and hope you're doing okay with whatever is going on.

Since life has been keeping us busier than ever before, we haven't had the same amount of times to talk to each other as much as normal, and I am sorry about that. College goes from 0 to 100 so quickly sometimes, I swear! However, I never fear about our friendships fading. That has never been a conceivable idea in my wildest imagination. I know this because of how connected we are and how special it is to have crazy, amazing friends like y'all. No matter what we do or where we go, our friendship always remains with me, strong as ever.

At the end of the day, y'all know my crazy self will be around to bug you for our whole lives through! I know people say this all the time, but I mean it with all my heart: If you ever need a friend to laugh with or vent to, feel free to talk to me! I love y'all, and I hope that one day we can be the same crazy, silly people that we always have been when we get together!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
