As a person with tattoos, I absolutely love them. However, with that love, there are a couple of things that suck. Below I listed the top ten best and worst things about tattoos.

Worst? The itching.

The itching happens when the tattoo is healing and starting to peal. This sounds innocent enough until the daunting realization hits- that you. Can't. Scratch. It. Because if you do, you run the risk of ruining your new tattoo. It's torture having a scratch you can't itch for a couple of days.

Best? Picking a tattoo

Making a decision on your new ink is so exciting. The feeling is like being a kid in the candy shop, with so many amazing styles and an abundance of talented artists to choose from. It's always fun sketching your ideas out and playing with the various concepts. Once you schedule your tattoo appointment the anticipation is like waiting for Christmas morning.

Worst? Dreaded wipe.

Not quite sure if this is universal because aftercare varies from artist to artist. My artist when she finishes sprays this liquid on the tattoo- which stings like hell. She wipes it down with a paper towel and I swear, it's worse than getting the actual tattoo.

Best? The symbolism.

One of the highlights of a tattoo is the symbolism each piece has the potential to carry. The symbolism can range from simply liking the imagery to a whole story hidden behind the ink. Any tattoo you get has the potential to tell your personal story.

Worst? Pain.

It's common knowledge that having thousands of needles punctuating your skin is going to hurt- at least a little bit. While getting a tattoo is bearable, as the hours drag on the pain gets more tedious.

Best? Tattoo shops.

Tattoo shops have such a suave vibe about them. It's like stepping into another world, with prints of tattoo flash on the walls and the buzzing of the tattoo machines. The atmosphere is such a treat to visit.

Worst? Cost.

Additional note; if you look close enough you can see TWO tears

The above image is an actual representation of my wallet after my latest tattoo. And yes, if you look close enough you can see my wallet shedding a tear. It's no secret that good tattoos don't come cheap. It always stings taking out a couple hundred to pay for new ink.

Best? Style.

Additional note; excuse the fact that I look like a dumbass

This may be superficial but it's very true. Quality tattoos are aesthetic as fuck. A style is very personalized, but there are so many tattoo styles around there's something for everyone. Tattoos have been gaining an increased appreciation in common culture fashion, and with good reason.

Worst? Mom's disappointment.

I always cry a little inside when I have to sit down with my mom breaking the news to her, "Mom, I'm getting another tattoo" talk. She has accepted that I'll always get tattoos but shes still a little disappointed after each one. I hope your family is chill about tattoos because facing your family's judgment is very soul-crushing.

Best? Art.

Having tattoos is adorning your body with literal art. The effort and soul my artist puts into every tattoo she creates is evident. Every time I see another tattoo, I see the love and soul that goes into every line. A tattoo is an art like never before, with your body as the canvas.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.
