The new President of the United States was recently elected. But what will Donald Trump do about problems facing veterans? Will he do better than his predecessors? I hope so.

The way veterans are treated by the country could be improved. Certain cities are the best place to live if you served your country whereas other cities you want to avoid and run away from really fast. WalletHub, a financial website, created a list of the best and worst cities in the U.S. for veterans to live. The website compared the 100 most populated cities regarding three categories. One was employment, obviously regarding jobs, unemployment, and businesses owned by veterans. Two was economy, concerning housing affordability and income. The third was quality of life, especially when it came to crime rate.

For the sake of simplicity (and page space) I will not list all 100 cities. I will instead list the 10 best and the 10 worst:

Best Cities for Veterans

1. Scottsdale, AZ

2. Laredo, TX

3. Irvine, CA

4. Plano, TX

5. Austin, TX

6. El Paso, TX

7. Colorado Springs, CO

8. San Diego, CA

9. Tampa, FL

10. Orlando, FL

Worst Cities for Veterans

1. Detroit, MI

2. Newark, NJ

3. Cleveland, OH

4. Memphis, TN

5. Boston, MA

6. Jersey City, NJ

7. Cincinnati, OH

8. Baltimore, MD

9. Chicago, IL

10. Fort Wayne, IN

As a Jersey girl, it is downright embarrassing that my state has two of the worst cities for veterans to reside. It is appalling for Boston to be one of the worst considering some of the most important events of the American Revolution took place there. It is a place where rebels fought for freedom yet soldiers in the present day are treated poorly.

I believe anyone reading this article has a right to know where soldiers can seek better lives. If you are a soldier or loved one of a soldier reading this, consider your options. The other cities listed on the best and worst list is on the WalletHub website. You can also do your own research. Whatever you do, look out for our soldiers. One of the things Trump should fix is the lives of our veterans.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
