My Best And Worst Concert Experiences

Keep these in mind when choosing your summer concerts.

I have been to many concerts in my twenty years on this planet. Usually the summer time is full of concerts and with many coming up in the upcoming summer months, I am thinking about all of the great ones I have been to. That being said... there are also some that were not so great.

1. Panic! at the Disco

Starting with the best list, (in no particular order) number one is Panic! at the Disco. This concert easily made it onto my best list. I will be seeing them again this summer and I will again after that too if I get to!

It also rained while I was at this concert (which was outside.) I thought this would ruin the concert but they were so good that it was just even more fun in the rain.

2. Halsey

In the summer of 2016, I got to see Halsey. I think out of everyone I have ever seen live she had one of the best stage presences.

She also had a really good message for the crowd while she was performing. She said to us that the Badlands (the name of her album and her tour) was a place she wanted people to come to be themselves.

She was a phenomenal performer and it was easy to tell that connecting with her audience was important.

3. One Direction

I have seen them three times and they were also my first concert: One Direction.

Now, I know they get a lot of flack for being a boy band but their energy on stage is incredible and they put on a very entertaining show.

They also had great chemistry with each other and it was just a fun experience.

4. Lauren Sanderson

Lauren Sanderson has to be no. 1 for so many reasons.

She is from Fort Wayne, so that automatically made her shows awesome since she is a local artist.

Lauren also creates the most electric energy of any concert I have ever been to. She is not afraid to be herself and she is not afraid to just be a person. When I go to her shows it does not feel like she is some unreachable being, it feels like everyone there is on the same level and she does not treat anyone like they are a fan, its like we are her friends.

I have also met her four times and she is such a sweetheart, that makes it even better because she is so genuine.

Moving on from the best list, I have a short list of my "worsts."

1. Blink 182

I may be stepping on some toes when I say this... but when I saw Blink 182 in September of 2016 I was a little disappointed, to say the least.

I did not feel like the energy was there and I did not feel as if they really connected with the crowd. So, that being said it was not one of the better shows I have been to

2. Blackbear

I think out of all of the concerts I have been to Blackbear was the worst.

First of all, one of his openers, the rapper 24 Hours, had a set that went on way longer than it should have.

Because of this (or vice versa) Blackbear was very late arriving on stage. I have a little slack to cut him here because he is open about having anxiety but he could have at least had the better of the two openers, Lil Aaron, go on again so the crowd did not have to listen to the auto-tuned voice of 24 Hours for thirty minutes more than we should have had to.

Other than his late arrival, the energy was lacking at this concert as well. Even the most upbeat songs did not have much energy and I felt like it was not as fun as it could have been.

The best part of this concert, actually, was that my friends and I ran into Lauren Sanderson (who I mentioned earlier) while we were in line.

So, this summer when you are considering what you want your concert to look like, consider these best and worst lists.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

11 Moments Every College Freshman Has Experienced

Because we made it, and because high school seniors deserve to know what they're getting themselves into

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!
