1. "Don't downgrade your dream just to fit your reality, upgrade your conviction to match your destiny" –Stuart Scott

This quote right here is special! It highlights the mentality we must maintain as we embark on the journey to transforming our lives.

A journey that will contain many trials and tribulations that will test our desire, commitment, and determination to reaching our fullest potential. It is especially at these times that we must continue to have faith in our potential to achieve every single one of our dreams. Furthermore, it is imperative that we refrain from compromising on the reality we want to foster and the experiences we want to live.

Lesson #1 — Never settle for the ordinary when you deserve the extraordinary.

2. "Don't go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." –Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hands down my favorite quotes of all time! This quote encourages us to create our own reality and reminds us that we don't have to be doing what everyone else is doing. Moreover, it highlights the unique contribution that every single one of us has for the world and encourages us to take action in creating our own path.

Lesson #2 — You hold the pen to your story. Foster your own reality. Leave your own legacy.

3. "Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant." –Robert Louis Stevenson

Sometimes the desire for "instant gratification" may push us away from recognizing the true progress we are making on our goals.

I have learned over the years that every challenge, opportunity, and experience is truly bringing us closer to the life of our dreams. Not only are they providing a stronger foundation for our lives, but they are also allowing us to learn about ourselves— our strengths, our weaknesses, our passions, our desires.

Lesson #3 — Trust the process! There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.

4. "Life is about breaking our personal limits and outgrowing ourselves to live our best lives." –Anonymous

Seeking growth in every aspect of our lives is the key to reaching our highest potential. We must continue to step outside our comfort zones, seek growth, and challenge ourselves. Life's too short to live anything but the life of our dreams. Thus, we must continue to push through boundaries, reach higher, and dream bigger.

Lesson #4 — You only live once! Live your best life!

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate. It can be overwhelming at times and it’s important to take a step a back and calmly think things over. Maybe gain some perspective.
