Food shopping when trying to be become vegetarian can be overwhelming. I remember my first food shopping trip I got a ton of things I really didn't need. Thats why my trial and error is great for anyone starting off. This list is some of my favorite staples I have used. I hope this makes your journey into living plant based easier for you.

Morning star maple sausage patties

A great alternative you can use for breakfast or you can even chop it up and put it in your gravy for pasta.

Gardein quinoa breaded nuggets

I loved chicken nuggets as a kid. I have gone through many nugget alternatives so I was so happy when I finally found one I liked. I have friends who eat regular nuggets and couldn't tell the difference.

Tofu

Tofu is a staple in my diet. I pair it with everything and you can sauté it however you want. It is so versatile. Pair it with some stir fry trust me its delicious.

Beyond meat burgers

These burgers are delicious. They are my staple during the summer. My family will sometimes choose these burgers over regular ones, thats how good they are.

Tofurkey deli slices

Going vegetarian doesn't mean meals cant be quick. Tofurkey deli slices are a great alternative to ham and for quick lunch sandwiches. it contains a lot of protein and still taste good.

Morning star corn dogs

I live a pretty much plant based life. But finding alternatives to childhood favorite foods is my favorite thing. Corn dogs bring me back to fairs and amusement parks. They have regular ones and mini corn dogs. How cute is that. If you are looking for a treat these are great.

There are so many great alternatives I haven't listed. My favorite brands are Morning Star, Gardein, Quorn, Boca, and Beyond Meat. I would try it out regardless if your vegetarian or not. This could be a great start to meatless Mondays.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
