It was Thursday, September 15th; a day that I thought would consist of me rolling out of bed, possibly making it to my 7:50, risking my stomach's health by eating some school food and talking to my cat for a couple of hours. #JustTheCollegeThings, right? Well, little did I know that my pre-planned day was about to be shaken up by some spicy news.

This spiciness consisted of a Campus Concierge email announcing that the presidential nominee, Donald Trump, would be speaking at High Point University on Tuesday, September 20th at noon. When this email was sent out, I was walking to fulfill one of my day's expectations, getting a subpar salad and maybe even a sweet tea if I was feeling like a baller. As I was walking with a friend, every conversation was about Trump's prescence on our campus. People were fuming, people were rejoicing, some people were creating total anarchy by releasing caged animals and running with pitchforks. Either way, people had a lot of thoughts and feelings and were incredibly vocal about them. Reflecting on it, I think High Point should've hosted a "Mean Girls" style venting session. HPU administration, If you're reading this, there's still time.

Perhaps the best news I experienced on Thursday came from the tweets about Trump speaking at High Point. No matter what your opinions are on Trump coming to speak, or Trump in general, you have to admit that these are some pretty sick burns. Here are just a few of my favorites:

1.) If you're not familiar with HPU, we literally have a giant metal fence surrounding the entirety of our campus. Seriously. Google Image it.

2.) A girl has no name, but she's got some good thoughts.

3.) Mad props to Kristen for calling out HPU on their invitee and his discordance with their own policy. #Gottem

4.) I know this is some serious self-promotion, but I'm not over it.

5.) S/O to Liz for a more serious perspective.

6.) @JessicaLange wanna come back to save us all plz???

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
