15 Nostalgic Shows That Will Hit You Right In The Childhood

In This Article:

Growing up I watched a lot of TV, who am I kidding? I still watch too much TV. With that being said, it is to no surprise that I have my fair share of favorite shows. Today's shows, however, can not compare to the shows that I watched growing up. Honestly, I have too many so picking my top favorites were kinda hard, but I did it. Some are older and some were newer, but I still love them regardless.

Here are some of my favorites, yes I did limit myself, and it was hard to pick...

1. Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-12)

I've always loved Selena Gomez. This show was amazing for me, it showed my favorite things in life. Magic, family, and friends. I related to Selena's character, Alex, a lot. She was the middle child the only difference she had brothers and I have sisters.

2. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody (2005-08)

Dylan and Cole Sprouse were amazing actors. I loved this show. I loved watching them get into trouble while living in the hotel and seeing what the next adventure was in store for them and their friends. Now seeing Cole in Riverdale is my favorite, love seeing him act again.

3. Kim Possible (2002-07)

I loved this show so much as a kid, still do, to be honest. Watching her be able to help people with her best friend/sidekick Ron. Watching their relationship was nerve-racking, you just wanted to see when they were gonna make it official. We all cheered with joy when they finally kissed at the prom. They were honestly friendship/relationship goals, at least for me.

4. That’s So Raven (2003-13)

vignette.wikia.nocookie.net

A show that touched on real-life issues and how Raven and her friends overcame every obstacle thrown their way. She always had her friends with her to help her through everything and to help her figure out her visions.

5. Shake it Up (2010-13)

I have always loved dancing; when this show came out it made me want to learn to do hip-hop dancing. Obviously didn't happen, but I still wish I knew how to do some of the dances on the show, not going to lie I did try and dance along to the show when I could.

6. Lizzie McGuire (2001-04)

www.etonline.com

Another show that would touch on real-life issues. Following the life of Lizzie and her friends go through their teen years and how they figured out what they wanted while in school. From relationships, bullies and friendship fights. I was happy when they came out with the movie when we got to hear Lizzie sing.

7. Boy Meets World (1993-00)

This show was a great show. It had great advice for kids everywhere. Following Corey and his friends going through life and school. Mr. Feeny was everything, he was their teacher and neighbor and friend. I wished for a teacher like him. When he was saying goodbye to them was very emotional for me, those words, "...Class dismissed." I cried.

8. American Dragon: Jake Long (2005-07)

vignette.wikia.nocookie.net

This was a show for me, magic, friendship, and a talking dog, who could ask for me? Loved watching Jake grow into his powers and watch him mess up whenever he was around his crush, his friends were always there to help him.

9. Phil of the Future (2004-06)

lumiere-a.akamaihd.net

Following the life of Phil and his family as they adapt to a new year. They are from the future on vacation, they are trying to get home, but are stuck in this time. They form friendships and by the time it's time to go home they don't want to go. Was a good show and I loved the friendships that were formed.

10. Full House (1987-95)

vignette.wikia.nocookie.net

Although this was over the year I was born, I still loved watching the reruns. Watching the family go through their ups and downs and overcome them together made me happy. They are a close family and I loved how close they were, the siblings' connection was my favorite. I related to Stephanie the most, still my favorite.

11. Avatar: The Last Airbender (2003-08)

The show that follows Aang and his friends, helping him figure out his powers and what he has to accomplish by the solstice. He has friends from all four nations, one was kind of surprising. My favorites were Momo and Appa not gonna lie.

12. Danny Phantom (2004-07)

Danny fights ghosts to help save his town. His parents built a laboratory, didn't go to plan for them, he fixed it and become a ghost fighter himself. His parents are ghost fighters, he is one of the ghosts they try to kill, but never succeed. His friends help him out when they can, his sister soon finds out about his powers and she soon helps as well, especially when it comes to his parents finding out. I honestly shipped him and Sam together and was glad they finally kissed.

13. Little House on the Prairie (1974-83)

This show started and ended before I was born, but when I discovered it on TV I couldn't stop watching. Following the life of Laura Ingalls and her friends and family go through life was amazing. This show made me fall more in love with the country and horses. I fell in love with the show as well as Laura's story.

14. What I Like About You (2002-06)

mtv.mtvnimages.com

I enjoyed watching this show, I would watch it with one of my best friends whenever she would come over after school. The story between the two sisters, Holly and Val, was my favorite. Seeing them go through fights, boyfriends, and whatever life threw at them, they overcame it together with help from their friends of course.

15. H2O: Just Add Water (2006-10)

vignette.wikia.nocookie.net

The strong relationship/friendship between three girls who are completely different from each other in every way come together with one similarity a secret. Emma, Cleo, and Rikki become friends over a common secret, they are mermaids. They go through life as teenagers hiding a secret with help of course. They let some friends know and they help them when they can.

Looks like I had a theme for my favorites shows, magic. Nothing has changed now, but I love them all.

What shows did you watch as a kid? Which were your favorite? Who did you watch them with? What made them your favorite? Was there a message within the show that might've stuck out to you the most?

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Advice To Live By As Told By Bob's Burgers

The Belchers hold the key to a better life.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
