Best TV Series To Stream On Netflix Now
The Verge

With the millions of streaming possibilities available at the click of a button, the search for a quality TV series to watch can often times be a daunting task. Although I do not consider myself a media critic by any means, I do know what entertains me, which usually consists of an interesting plot and relevant social commentary. I am certain you will recognize a few of these series, however I urge you to stream these either for the first time, or the fifth!

1) Stranger Things

At this point you've had to have been living under a rock if you have not heard of this Netflix-original that follows the lives of various characters in the 80's. This eight episode series thrillingly uncovers the supernatural forces that have taken over a small town in Indiana and is action packed until the end.

2) Orange Is The New Black

Another iconic Netflix-original series which is based off of Piper Kerman's memoir, "Orange Is the New Black: My Year in a Women's Prison". This show depicts life inside an all women's prison, not only following the experiences the main character, Piper Chapman, faces but also the intense backgrounds of all of the incarcerated women. You are guaranteed to laugh and cry all at the same time!

3) Lost

This intense series from the early 2000's will without a doubt keep you on the edge of your seat for six consecutive seasons. After a dramatic plane crash on an isolated island, the show follows the lives of the passengers as they discover where they are, and if they are truly alone.

4) Scandal

Creator of Grey's Anatomy and How To Get Away With Murder Shonda Rhimes, has a true talent for creating entertaining, emotional, and relevant TV series, which she does not hold back from in this show. Scandal follows the American political life of Olivia Pope, a crisis management specialist, and her scandalous personal and professional affairs with the POTUS.

5) Arrow

Based on DC's character "Green Arrow", billionaire turned vigilante, Oliver Queens, returns to his city after being shipwrecked with the intention of avenging his father and righting the wrongs made by the wealthy criminals of Starling City.

6) Bones

With a total of eleven seasons, Bones, is a high intensity crime show following Dr. Temperance Brennan, a forensic anthropologist uncovering the truth in high profile FBI investigations. Not only is this series extremely entertaining, but it is also packed full of fast paced scientific scenes, which our brains are innately drawn to.

7) House Hunters International

If you love traveling, are intrigued by looking into other's homes, or simply love business/real estate then this show is for you. HGTV's Netflix collection gives insight into lavish homes across the globe and each individual family's pursuit of finding their dream home!

8) American Horror Story

Although this is another insanely popular mainstream TV series, Ryan Murphy introduces an unusual concept in these four seasons (the fifth is on its way!) ready to be streamed on Netflix. Each season is composed of nearly the same cast, however they are all set in a different time period, following the lives of different characters faced with horrific settings. I 100% recommend binge watching all four seasons, but not alone! (Season Two: Asylum is the best FYI)

9) Revenge

One would think that a show dedicated to the drama of wealthy socialites in the Hampton's would not only be boring, but also foolish. Yet Revenge somehow thrillingly makes every episode in all four seasons loaded with action, drama, and suspense. Protagonist, Emily Thorne, lives a seemingly simple life, yet has a dark past and an intelligently vengeful mindset ready to take what has been stolen from her, and redeem her family.

10) Bob's Burgers

An adult-oriented animated show is a concept that can oftentimes be tired or overdone, however FOX's hit sitcom Bob's Burgers is wildly entertaining. Although this series has its fair share of mindlessly inappropriate humor, it is also extremely witty and has plots that follow relevant and important social issues. This series is perfect for late night watching or early Sunday morning cartoons.

So pull up Netflix and get to watching!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
