Over-the-knee boots are absolutely one of my favorite trends this season, and, based on what I've seen in stores and on a lot of girls recently, I'm not the only one who feels that way. The funny thing is I wasn't even sure if I liked over-the-knee boots until I was in Target last week and laid eyes on some black suede ones, pictured below:
I'll just try them on, I thought, still unsure if they would look good on me or not. To my surprise, not only did the boots look really hot, they were also super comfy--the luxurious suede, combined with the snug fit and extra few inches of height, made it feel like I was just wearing super sexy, warm socks. I could definitely use a new pair of boots, I thought (false! so false), but before I knew it they were in my cart and I was checking out with my get-5%-off Target credit card. How does Target have that effect on me every time I walk in the store?
But I digress. Since purchasing these bad boys last week, I've worn them approximately every day, and I feel like I'm already halfway to getting my money's worth. Admittedly, they're a bit difficult to pair with outfits because they look weird with some stuff, and you can't really wear any pants that aren't skintight with them or they won't zip, but other than that minor detail they're amazing. Here are a few good things to wear them with.
To keep it casual, try leggings, a scarf, and some type of fitted jacket:
To dress them up a smidge more, wear them with a sweater dress (pair with tights or bare legs, depending on how cold it is):
And finally, for going out, try them with something like a sparkly mini dress (this would be perfect for NYE, although it's a little early to be thinking about that):
Just a few simple ideas on what to wear with over-the-knee boots since they're the biggest thing lately, but of course there's a million different things you can wear them with as long as you're willing to experiment a bit.
Keep in mind that they're available just about anywhere, in all different colors and fabrics, flat or high-heeled. Mine are flat because I don't really wear heels that much and they're better for class, but I love the way some of the heeled ones look too. Basically they just add a ton of sex appeal to any outfit, and who wouldn't want that?
Happy hunting!
