This winter is not like the other winters I have experience, partly because of the lack of snow that Washington, D.C. receives.
To be fair, I am not a fan of winter weather. However, seeing my hometown get a ton of snow each week and my high school receive multiple snow days, I can't help but feel a little jealous that I have not received one snow day yet! Each week I check the weather hoping that there is some chance of a snow day so I can do my favorite things. But, each week I lose hope when the original 3-5 inches forecasted becomes “a dusting to an inch of snow”, a.k.a. nothing.
Once again, there is snow in the forecast this week. This forecast means I have my hopes very high for a possible snow day, as well as the chance to finally do my favorite things, meaning associate Frozen with every part of my day.
First
First you wake up, look at your email, and get really excited that you don’t have to go to class. Then, after you get over it really quickly, you fall back asleep for as long as you want, dreaming about Elsa’s castle and a wonderful world full of snow.
Second
Best thing to drink on a cold, day? Hot chocolate. Make yourself a nice cup of hot chocolate, put your fuzzy socks on, and drink it in bed while watching Frozen (obvi). No better way to celebrate a day off.
Third
So, since you just watched Frozen, have Do you want to build a snowman? stuck in your head, and saw just how cute Olaf is, all you'll really want to do is build a snowman of your own.
Fourth
Make snow angels! There isn’t anything more fun than laying on the cold ground in your clothes and soaking up all of the snow. It’s even a nice exercise since you have to put your whole body into it.
Fifth
Watch a really good movie, cuddle, or hangout with friends. There isn't a better way to spend a cold day watching a movie you haven't seen in a while, or just a really good movie in general. Take time off from doing homework for a little and actually enjoy a day off.
When it comes down to it, find a way to spend your snow day in a comfy, fun, or relaxed way. You have the day off from school and so many opportunities with how to spend your free time, especially with there is snow on the ground. You'll be surprised to see how fun it is to have a snowball fight, go sledding, make snow angles, and build snowmen-- even at this age.
