Some may say that Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. I think that fall is a pretty close second to that (if not first). First of all, fall is filled with stunning scenery like colorful leaves and pretty decorations. And how can you not love that chill in the air that's not too cold and not too warm? With Halloween and Thanksgiving during this time, there are plenty of things that are associated with this wonderful season.
1. Crunchy, colorful leaves
Recommended for you
I always love the feeling of walking through the leaves as they crunch beneath my feet. Fall scenery is also really pretty to see whether it's on a hike or a drive. They are always such different shades of fall colors.
2. Carving pretty pumpkins
The best fall tradition can be going to the pumpkin patch, picking out the perfect pumpkin, taking all the guts out, then carving it into a spooky or silly face. It's fun for all ages and it never gets old because it only happens once a year. What will your pumpkin look like this year?
3. ABC Family's 13 nights of Halloween
There are way more Halloween movies than anyone ever realizes. From the classic Charlie Brown's The Great Pumpkin to the scary ones like the Halloween series, there is definitely at least one movie you're sure to love watching every year. Hocus Pocus is another classic that most everyone watches as a tradition. Other popular favorites include Halloweentown, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and The Addams Family.
4. Going to the pumpkin patch
One of my favorite fall traditions is to go to the pumpkin patch. I love getting lost in the corn maze and trying to find my way out. The hayride to the field of pumpkins is fun as well. There is always so much to do and it always gets me in the Halloween spirit.
5. Haunted Houses
They scare you to death every single time, but somehow, you always come back the next year. There are two different kinds of haunted houses: the ones you think are really scary and end up not being scary at all, and then there are the ones you think are going to be scary and actually freak you out so much that you can't fall asleep for hours that night.
6. Candy
Candy corn, lollipops, and lots and lots of chocolate can all be found during the month of October. Even if you don't like candy, I can almost promise you will sneak something because it is surrounding you everywhere. Whether you get it from trick or treating, hand it out at the door, or just buy it the day after Halloween when the price gets marked down, there is almost a guarantee that you will have plenty of candy at your house after this holiday.
7. Fall fashion
You can always tell when fall begins by the change in fashion. As the cool air hits, many girls begin to dress in jeans, boots, and puffy vests. The guys will dress in flannels and bean boots to match the girls' fall style. In my opinion, this is the best style season because layers are in and that means there are so many options!
Fall is such an awesome season and there is always plenty to do during this time. These are a few of the long list of best things about fall. Get out and explore them!
