The 7 Best Summer Hikes in Washington State

Since summer is almost here, hiking season is also here. With three months of summer break and sitting around every single day, a little hiking can help you stay in shape and keep that summer body. In the state of Washington, the scenery and greens are unbeatable. You cannot find anywhere else with the view of Mother Nature like the one from Washington State. So here are some hikes that you should definitely put on your bucket list for this summer.

Rattle Snake-1.9 miles

If you are new to the hiking scene then Rattle Snake is the hike for you. This hike is only 1.9 miles so it is a great relaxing hike for everyone. Make a fun day trip out of this with your girlfriends and boyfriends without tiring yourself out.

Big Four Ice Caves -2.2 miles

This hike is a harder than Rattle Snake for sure but the scene at the end of the hike is totally worth it. The view is better in the winter time but the summer view will not disappoint either. P.S. if you are going on this hike in the winter, please be careful.

Deception Pass Bridge-2.7 miles

Located in Oak Harbor, the hike up to see the bridge is unbelievable. The scenery along the hike to the destination is a show by itself. You are not going to get a huge waterfall or mountains at the end, but an old vintage bridge, what can be better than that?

Mount Si -3.0 miles

If you want a workout, then this is the hike for you. Instead of going to the gym, go to North Bend and hike Mount Si. Sure it is “only” 3 miles but trust me, be ready for a long day of hiking. The view at the top is not too unique but the workout and the climb to the top is the satisfaction that no other hike can give you.

Bridal Veil Falls -4.0 miles

Do you like waterfalls? If you answered yes then Bridal Falls is the hike for you. The hike is 4.0 miles roundtrip so it is great for beginners (this was my first hike). The higher you hike, the cooler it is. You will know when you are almost at the top when you start to feel sprinkles of water hitting your face. And the waterfall? B.E.A utiful.

Poo Poo Point -4.8 miles

You want a little show and watch people jump off of the mountain at the end of your hike? Go to Poo Poo point. This hike is the perfect morning hike. Start out at around 10 and have a nice lunch out on top. With a great view and lots of space, Poo Poo Point is a must for your summer bucket list.

Lake Serene- 8.4 miles

Lake Serene is the longest hike on this list but it is worth the miles of hiking. I am personally too lazy, but if you are not like me, hike to Lake Serene. The beautiful lake at the end of the hike looks amazing and the pictures do not do it justice.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
