Feeling bored sitting around at home too often? Feel like you are wasting your summer and not going out and doing things? Then now is the time to change that. Here are some different ideas to get your summer started. Don't forget, it is already July, so you don't want to waste any more time. Get ready summer 2018 because it is about to finally be fun and full of memories.

1. Go on a nature walk at your local park.

Bonus points if you go to an unfamiliar park that is not local to you. This is something you can do alone or invite some friends along to join you. Being surrounded by nature leaves you with a nice feeling. Also if there is a forest path at a park, the shade will refresh you even in the summer heat from the sun.

2. Go on one of those cute coffee dates: treat yourself or treat a friend.

This is an affordable option for anyone trying to save their money. I personally enjoy going to Starbucks all the time because I am pretty basic. You could go to a big chain like that, or you could also try out your local coffee shops. They are usually extra cozy and full of nice smalltalk.

3. Have a great outdoor photoshoot in the pure sunlight.

Giphy

Take a friend or a group of friends around town with you while capturing some photos along the way. Visit different locations that will make your Instagram explode with likes. Just beware if you plan on going anywhere in the middle of the afternoon because the heat may make you a bit sweatier looking.

4. Attend a music festival of your choice and get ready to jam out.

Giphy

Summer is the season of music festivals all over the world. Research where the nearest one is and make a plan with your friends to try and go to it. Get ready to dance, jam out, and just thrive in that concert environment. It is a feeling like no other especially if you are with some of your closest buds.

5. Release the inner thrill side of you at an amusement park or festival.

Giphy

Are you a thrill-seeker without even knowing it? Amusement parks and festivals are the perfect options to let the adventurous side of you thrive. Roller coasters, Ferris wheels, snow cones, and tons of other chances to have some fun will make it a worthwhile summer day.

6. Relax on a beach...even if it is not the ocean.

Giphy

This one may sound more obvious for a summer choice. Take the time to have a nice day to just let loose and tan a little in the process. If the ocean is not too far of an option, head on over and let that beach day begin. If you live farther inland, find a nearby lake where you can still relax perhaps on some sand.

7. Host a barbecue party with all your friends or family.

Giphy

The more people the better, especially when it comes to food. Tell them all to bring a dish to share and get ready to eat a lot. It is also fun to play some games together such as frisbee, football, card games, or anything else you want to do to have a good time with people who are close to you.

8. Go to a drive-in movie with some friends.

Giphy

It is especially fun if someone brings a big truck or van with a mattress and blankets to relax in the back. Bring all your closest buddies, pack lots of snacks, and hype up on some energy drinks to stay awake all night. This is a classic summer experience that everyone should do at least once with all their friends.

9. Grab a blanket and get ready to go stargazing.

Giphy

This is a nice relaxing activity that you can enjoy even if you are by yourself at night. Just lay back and watch the sky twinkle and shine. Look for different constellations you might know or for shooting stars. Also look for passing planes as they blink and move away. Stargazing is even better at special places such as on a beach, outside a tent while camping, or even in your backyard.

10. Take a day to go on a shopping spree for yourself.

Giphy

Buy yourself one outfit or twenty because you deserve it sometimes. Hit up your local mall and stop at every store on the strip. You don't have to buy something from every store, but sometimes it can make you feel good about yourself. If you are trying to save money, stick to maybe just one killer look for a future night out.

Don't let summer pass you by. Go out and make some new memories while having some fun. Live life to the absolute fullest and hold nothing back. Now, why are you still here reading this? Go do something from this list!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
