Saint Patrick's Day is hands down the best holiday. From the celebration to the meaning, it exists for all the right reasons.

1. Green there, here, and everywhere.

Seriously, if you celebrate St. Patrick's Day and you don't wear green, are you even celebrating? Everyone wears green and a lot of it. Green hats. Green shirts and shorts. Green hair. Green jewelry and tattoos. There are legit seas of green and it's pretty great.

2. Rowdy people rise from the dead.

Everyone loses their cool. There is screaming and laughter. St. Patrick's Day is a lot of people's excuse to go crazy. People kiss strangers, try acrobats for the first time, and let loose on this remarkable holiday.

3. Family and friends are brought together.

This is the holiday where people reconnect. Family, friends, and even strangers create strong ties. Everyone is super friendly on St. Patrick's Day. It isn't the "lucky" holiday for no reason.

4. There's music, partying, and food.

All day and all night, the music is loud. The parties go from dawn to dusk, no joke. The best part is the food; there's almost as much at Super Bowl parties. Seriously, so much food, and a lot of variety too. There's donuts, cakes, hotdogs, soup, and basically any other food you can think of.

5. Giant parades in almost every city.

Who doesn't love a parade? Clowns, loud cars, big character balloons, and dogs are only some of the amazing things you see at a parade. There are people over sixty-five and people who aren't even five months old at parades. One thing that gets the crowds going at parades is when the giant balloon people make it spin--crowds go wild at that.

6. It's basically a rocking funeral for a rocking dude.

Every year St. Patrick gets his death honored by millions of people. He gets parties, music, food, laughter, parades, and more just in honor of his death. Pretty lucky dude.

After hearing about all this, it's pretty difficult to not say St. Patrick's Day is the best holiday. If you still don't think it is, try celebrating it, parade and all. St. Patrick's Day is the holiday where you can be a total weirdo and nobody is out to judge.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
