If there’s only one thing we learned from the movie "Elf," it’s that singing Christmas carols is an essential part of Christmas—especially if you don’t want Santa to fall out of the sky. Just to make sure that doesn’t happen this year, here are the top five Christmas songs that will keep him flying high this Christmas Eve.

1. "Jingle Bell Rock"

The only image that comes up whenever this song comes on is the talent show from "Mean Girls." What’s better than a song and a dance to start the holiday season?

2. "Where Are You Christmas?"

Remembering what’s important during the season of giving is easy when you’ve got the cutest little Who down in Whoville singing it to you. Little Cindy Lou spreads Christmas cheer by reminding us that it's not all about the presents.

3. "Santa Claus is Coming to Town"

A little tune to remind you that the Christmas season is a little bit about getting good gifts. At least you have to be on the nice list to get them, though, right? Plus, this song proves to be a great way to spread Christmas Spirit, according to "Elf."

4. "Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays"

Who better to help share some holiday spirit than NSYNC? This politically correct, inclusive song has something for everyone so that the holiday joy is spread wide and far every year.

5. "All I Want For Christmas Is You"

A true, classic. Thanks, Mariah Carey, for this Christmas anthem that will continue to spread joy and boost your carrier for ages to come. The true spirit of the season is bursting in every long note that no one but you can hit.

6. "Mistletoe"

As much as no one wants to admit it, Justin Bieber has done at least one thing right with this song. An instant classic worthy of being added to any great Christmas party playlist, this song gives everyone dreams of a little mistletoe action.

7. "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer"

Everyone's favorite song to add some of their own holiday cheer too. Lightbulbs, Monopoly, and George Washington are just a few of the guest appearances that make this song great.

8."Last Christmas"

A great reminder to not give away your most valuable item this Christmas to someone who's hot cocoa is warmer than their feelings for you and to save it for someone special. Maybe someone who brings you hot chocolate instead of drinking it without you would be a better choice.

9. "Santa Baby"

Having trouble with this year's Christmas list? No worries, Santa Baby has got you covered. I mean, who wouldn't want a 54' convertible in light blue?

10."I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas"

Another great addition to your 2016 Christmas list. I would recommend asking for a baby hippo, though--much easier to fit under the tree.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
