The Best Series On Netflix To Spend Your Summer Watching

Coming home from college is a time for relaxing and detoxing. In between shifts at work trying to make money in order to support your aggressive college spending habits, take some time to unwind and watch a few of the best Netflix series. Here's the ones that made the list:

1. "90210"

Nothing says summer like Beverly Hills. "90210" follows a group of A-list socialites through the trials and tribulations of young adulthood. If you're looking for the drama and scandals of "Gossip Girl" with a West Coast spin, "90210" is the show for you.

2. "White Collar"

This series is a little less well known than some of the others that make this list. Main character and ex-conman Neal Caffrey attempts to rebuild his life and cover up his criminal past in this drama. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll definitely catch the feels for Neal.

3. "The Office"

Old reliable. "The Office" is a light, witty series that keeps viewers laughing season after season. No one episode is like another, and each character brings a ton of value to the series. "The Office" will leave you longing for a boss like Michael Scott, a relationship like Jim and Pam's and maybe even a new appreciation for your co-worker that is just like Toby.

4. "Scandal"

Attorney, former White House aide and bad bitch of the century Olivia Pope works to get Washington D.C.'s most valuable figures out of trouble. If you're looking for a series full of cliff hangers, steamy hookups and a plethora of plot twists, "Scandal" is the perfect show for you this summer.

5. "Private Practice"

"Private Practice," a spin-off of "Grey's Anatomy," a show near and dear to everyone's heart, follows neonatal surgeon Addison Montgomery in her life post Seattle Grace Hospital. She joins the staff of a popular clinic in the heart of Los Angeles to continue her medical career.

6. "Weeds"

After the loss of her husband, main character Nancy Botwin turns to selling marijuana in order to support her family. She's forced to juggle her family and the demands of being an up scale drug dealer, all while keeping her money maker a major secret.

7. "Dexter"

Dexter Morgan, a blood spatter analyst, works in the forensics unit of the Miami PD. Unlike most in the police force, Dexter has a unique way of serving justice. Watch this series to get a glimpse at his double life.

8. "Orange is the New Black"

If you haven't watched this series yet, start now. "Orange is the New Black" follows the life of one-time-criminal-turned-inmate Piper Chapman through her time at a women's state penitentiary. There will be drama, intense girl fights and a brand new season June 17!

9. "How to Get Away with Murder"

HTGAWM is centered around four law school students hand selected to work for their brilliant professor, Annalise Keating. As they learn the ins and outs of the law, they find themselves tangled up in it. This could be Shonda Rhymes best series yet, and is definitely worth a good binge watch.

10. "Hawaii Five-O"

"Hawaii Five-O" follows an elite team of detectives chosen to receive immunity in order to solve crimes by any means. Based in the beautiful state of Hawaii, this series is perfect for the summer months.

11. "That '70s Show"

Like "The Office," "That '70s Show" is an oldie, but a goodie. This series is not only hilarious, but totally relatable. Although it is based in the 70s, life for young adults wasn't much different back then. Watch Eric Forman and his buddies deal with college, parents and getting a grip on life in this series.

12. "Blue Mountain State"

The best way to pass the summer at home from your respective college is to dream about being back there. "Blue Mountain State" follows a group of certified collegiate meatheads in their lives on and off the field. There will be a few wins, a few losses and definitely a ton of parties at the Goat House.

Happy binge-watching!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
