I absolutely love fall. My birthday falls on October 23rd, so I am a fall baby. I am going to talk about why I, or anyone, loves fall.

1. My birthday falls in October

I was a premature baby because I was supposed to be born on November 23rd. My mother had complications and I had to come early so I guess it was just a coincidence that I was born in October. I guess you could say I absolutely love this month.

2. The cool weather

I am not a fan of hot weather. I love the fall weather. I love being able to go outside and be comfortable, not hot and sweaty. I am able to wear a light jacket and shoes and still be comfortable with what I am wearing.

3. PUMPKINS!!!

I absolutely LOVE pumpkins. For me? Everything pumpkin. Pumpkin seeds, pumpkin spice frappuccino, pumpkin scents. I love everything pumpkin. My door at my college is decorated with pumpkins and I will be sure to carve some pumpkins for Halloween or even just for fun.

4. Halloween Movies (PG-13)

There are multiple movies that are Disney that are dedicated to Halloween. HalloweenTown is my favorite Disney movie. The next would have to be Hocus Pocus.

5. Halloween Movies (Rated R)

I absolutely love horror movies. October gives me a reason to watch all of the Halloween horror movies ever made. Jeepers Creepers, Halloween (yes, all of them).

6. Scarves and Boots

I love wearing scarves, leggings, a long, long-sleeved shirt and boots. That is a pretty basic outfit. I definitely do not care though, I am pretty comfortable wearing that outfit.

7. Costumes and Candy

I am a little old to be trick-or-treating, but I like dressing for the occassion. I love dressing up because I get to express what I like or who I like or who inpires me. The candy is not necessarily a thing for me anymore. I really enjoy watching kiddos getting dressed up and going to trick-or-treat.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
