Why Fall Is The Best Season

For those who dread the fall, here are a few things to look forward to.

Why Fall Is The Best Season

As the leaves start to change and the temperature starts to drop (dramatically here up north), I figured I would focus on the best parts of Fall and not the downside of summer ending.

First of all, foliage, duh. The trees are beautiful in the summer all bright and green, but come on, they're ALL green. Fall gives us some variation of color. Orange, red, yellow, brown, purple, maroon (go UMass!), and so much more. I don't know about you, but I love the sound of leaves ruffling as you walk through a bunch of them. It's time to bring out your cute and comfy sweaters with those cute ripped jeans you've been wanting to wear all summer. Along with the boots you just bought from the mall last week.

Another thing fall brings, CUDDLE WEATHER. Sorry, thats my favorite thing to do. I love to be active and all but I also love cuddling on the couch with an oversized blanket and my best friends watching endless old movies and sitcoms. Full house is always a go to if you're looking for a good laugh. Such a great show, but come on it definitely falls on the corny side of sitcoms.

While you're cuddling, don't you want some freshly baked goods? I mean you can obviously bake any time of the year but prime time baking season is certainly the fall. After a long day of classes and hours spent studying what better to do than have some freshly baked cookies. Or pumpkin pie. Or brownies. Or anything fresh out of the oven for that matter.

Next, apple and pumpkin picking! Now is your time to shine in that cute sweater, ripped jeans, and new boots! Photo opportunity on fleeeeek as well. I don't know about you, but fresh apples sound amaaaazing! My mom makes an apple crumb cake that is literally amazing I could probably eat the entire thing. However, I have brothers, who also love to eat, so I have to share.

To go along with the food, hot chocolate season has officially begun! I have not tried a Pumpkin Spice Latte yet so I can't speak of those. I'm a hot chocolate girl, always have been and always will be. Growing up I spent a lot of my winters in hockey rinks watching my brothers play, so I always sipped on a hot chocolate. I can also eat chocolate for breakfast lunch and dinner. Thank you to my body for not making me allergic to that!

Halloween. The best holiday ever. Candy, parties, costumes, and more candy. I love candy if you can't tell by now that I love anything sweet. Halloween is so fun in college too because you have multiple nights to dress up!

Last year my friends and I were Pretty Little Liars :).

And best for last, as you may notice a trend in my writing, BACK TO SCHOOL!!!! This is mainly for college students because college is the best place on Earth. I love the summer so much, but after my birthday rolls around I get to look forward to going back to school. The new year, freshly opened notebooks, exciting activities, amazing food, and unfortunate but cozy cold weather are all worth it when I'm surrounded by the best people I know.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
