A couple of weeks ago, I wrote an article about some of the restaurants I'm going to miss the most when I graduate soon ultimately leave Eugene. In the process, however, I forgot to include some of my all time favorites like the oblivious bitch I am. So here I am, writing a follow-up article to include these restaurants that deserve recognition.
1. Sushi Island
Are you kidding me? How could I forget the restaurant that has been the staple of my friend group for over a year now? Happy hour is every day Monday-Saturday from 5-7 p.m. where every plate is only $1.75, it's a deal that's pretty hard to beat. Additionally, they recently started serving alcohol there, if you weren't already enticed.
2. Chula's
Another regular destination for me and my friends. We've definitely sipped a margarita or two before a party and come back for chips and salsa afterwards. It's a smaller venue but don't let that deceive you, because this place could easily fill an establishment twice it's size. Pro tip: treat yourself to some queso dip.
3. Falling Sky Brewery
Conveniently located in the EMU, Falling Sky is the perfect place to grab a quick bite or beer in between classes. They have daily deals and special nights such as trivia and stand up comedy. The atmosphere is great and, hey, where else can you get a beer on campus?
4. Olive Garden
Yes, I realize that this is a chain I can visit literally anywhere I go, but the Olive Garden in Eugene will always hold a special place in my heart. This is where me and my friends have our "family" dinners at least once a term. Have you ever rolled up to Olive Garden with 15 people? It's a completely different experience. The multiple-course meal extends the time spent together allowing everyone to catch up with one anther, and if you're 21 you can enjoy half-priced beer and wine while you wait for the staff to prepare your obnoxiously large table.
