First Time In Baltimore? Here Are 5 Restaurants You NEED To Try
Whether you've lived in Baltimore your whole life or you're just passing through and looking for a great place to eat, you can't go wrong with any of these options. Baltimore is home to so many different restaurants that serve up every type of food you can think of, so there is always something new to try. Here are five of the best spots to check out.

1. Barcocina

  • With waterfront views and Mexican inspired food, Barcocina is one of the best places in Fells Point for brunch or dinner. In the morning, try their huevos rancheros or the ricotta waffles with blackberries and lemon. For dinner, start with their Oaxaca style guacamole. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
  • Ice cream bonus: go to Pitango for gelato while you're in Fells Point and eat it on the benches by the water. Raspberry sorbet and stracciatella gelato is the best combination.

2. Miss Shirley's

Coconut cream stuffed French toast that was featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. Monkey bread. A menu with so many delicious items that I normally end up reading it three times before I can decide what to get. Their two Baltimore locations are in Roland Park and the Inner Harbor, but the one in the Inner Harbor is right near the water. They also have rotating flavors of the month for their pancakes and waffles, so every time you go there is something different to try!

3. Clark Burger

If you're looking for a great burger, this is the place to get it. Canadian-inspired Clark Burger has a simple menu of burgers, fries, and poutine, and all of it is served up fresh on metal trays in paper dishes. They have two locations, one in Fells Point and another in Belvedere Square. Two recommendations: the Clark Burger and the Gringo.

4. Cafe Hon

A classic Baltimore restaurant in Hamden. You can't miss the giant pink flamingo right above the door! I normally go for brunch and get the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with fresh fruit and potatoes. There are tons of shops in the area to explore, so stick around after the meal and check them out.

Ice cream bonus: hit up the Charmery and try out their Maryland Mud flavor in a homemade waffle cone.

5. R. House

I've never been to R. House, but I've heard so many good things about the meals and space! With ten chefs all serving up different options and styles of food in one area, R. House is definitely on my list of restaurants I want to try. From pizza to coffee, to sushi, R. House has a huge variety of food all under one roof.

Baltimore is the best place to be if you're looking for some good eats. Every neighborhood has its own set of restaurants to enjoy. Come to Baltimore for the food, but stay to explore all of the shops and experiences here. Fells Point and the Inner Harbor are both right on the water, and Hamden has some great vintage boutiques. Try out these restaurants and then see what else is nearby!

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
